We are now preparing for our first run through February 27th with the entire cast - woohoo!
On March 6th we are performing a Sitzprobe performance (a seated run-through of the entire production) with all the songs being performed by their respective characters. This performance is for the production community of Nanaimo and surrounding areas to raise a production team going forward of cast members, potential directors, musicians, tech, lighting and stage crews, publicists, artists, costume, props and set designers for our full scale production intended for the summer of 2022.
March 16th is our formal presentation of this chapter of production to the service communities of Nanaimo and surrounding areas, inviting them to partner with us to produce the finished work. We are choosing excerpts and highlights from our Sitzprobe to be performed at the Port Theatre prior to entering into discussions of how each service community might best be represented and available to our audiences at each of our performances in the future.
The final performances are set for a weekend in August (TBA) in Maffeo-Sutton Park at the Nanaimo Waterfront in the Lions Club Pavilion. Each performance will be followed by a Q & A session facilitated by members of the cast and production team as well as the service communities represented. This will allow for audience members from all demographics to be connected with these services as wanted or needed.
