From its inception 33 years ago to date, this production was intended to be performed for AND with the disconnected and/or marginalized of our current society. This includes but is not limited to the homeless, the addicted, those with mental health issues and/or suicidal ideations - particularly but certainly not restricted to those aged 16 to 25 - as well as those that journey with them. I have met countless people both then and until recently who fit these categories that have as yet untapped skills, talents and contributions to make to projects such as this. I believe this platform allows opportunities for those from these demographics to become 'part' of a team; a collective of individuals both professional and non-professional to collaborate 'on an even playing field' in an inclusive environment. We believe this project could be a catalyst; a reason that some come to believe again or maybe for the first time in their own sense of purpose and value – this musical theatre production will be our contribution to bringing hope and connections for all people in the Greater Nanaimo area and beyond.
