TBA

Hello everyone. I am very sad to say that the show has been cancelled. We were unable to fill the male lead role in time to have the production ready for our dates at the Lion's Pavilion in Maffeo Sutton Park.

Huge thank you to all who participated, and especially those that stayed with the production up to and including the very last breath - we did our best and more will be revealed in the future!

Love to all and to all, Happy Summer!

Sincerely yours,

Sarah M. Wood

May Day, it's a June Bug!

Don't You Think It's Time? is coming, and it's free!

We are in full production now, which looks like two four-hour rehearsals per week from now until our first performance date.

We think it's time to get the word out and to invite as many people as possible - both to be a support to those who are our target audience (the homeless, the addicted and those with suicidal ideation or poor mental health) as well as to enjoy what we have to share!

Please take a couple of minutes to listen to our most recently recorded performance of "If Only You Could Feel" (click the attached link below) to get an idea of the full cast singing together the street scene, and please share if you care!

We are:

And, THIS is what it's all about...check it out!

Please, click on the 'Star' to view the video!

We have been busy, busy, busy behind the scenes adapting to the unexpected response to our March 16th production and are making headway into casting additional roles as well as putting our final production team together for our anticipated performance run of July 29th through 31rst at Nanaimo's Maffeo Sutton Park Lion's Pavilion.

Bronwynn and Colton have been busy working on our promotional video and I hope you'll take a minute or two or three to view it here, it truly answers most questions and queries you may have about the show as well as who it's intended for. They did a great job and I hope it inspires you to share with others!

Bronwynn is preparing a matrix of a schedule so that we can be ready for production, rehearsing no more than 12 hours per week.  We are still in need of a couple of male and female ensemble players as well as a mature male to play the part of both a Dad and a newspaper editor; a kindly wise middle aged man who loves to sing!

Do you know of anyone interested in joining our team? If so, please email Bronwynn at:

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website, and if you like what you see here, please share!

Sincerely yours, Sarah M. Wood

After 3 months of scrambling over a very huge and steep learning curve we managed to successfully stage two performances; one at St. Andrew's United Church, Nanaimo, on May 6th and the other at the Nanaimo Port Theatre on Wednesday evening, March 16th, 2022.

We filmed and photographed both events to apply for further funding and local as well as Provincial support. We have received some very positive feedback from both audience and support services as well as encouragement to proceed and go forward sooooo...

we are working towards resuming rehearsals in early May for the full scale summer production of "Don't You Think It's Time?" which is scheduled for July 29th, 30th and 31rst in the Lion's Pavilion at Maffeo-Sutton Park, occupying Nanaimo's harbor front.

If you or anyone you know is interested in participating in some way either on-stage or behind the scenes in any one of a variety of services including ,music, lighting, set-design, costumes, fund-raising or administration - please email dontyouthinkitstime@gmail.com

Thank you!

We will keep you posted as we proceed -

Sarah M. Wood, composer and author of "Don't You Think It's Time?"

First come, first serve, this is it!

Hello folks, thank you so much for following our journey to here - the end of Phase 1!

We have been preparing 27 songs, 3 Acts and 9 characters over the past 2 months. Now we're at the end of this chapter which we lovingly refer to as Phase 1 of our project. All being well, funding will come into place to take us from here to Phase 2 at the Maffeo-Sutton Park Pavilion where we will perform the full stage production to the public, 4 performances from July 29th through to July 31rst.

Right now we have a few seats still available at the Port Theatre for our Highlights performance on Wednesday, March 16th starting at 7pm (the doors open at 6:30pm). All seats are free but must be reserved as you are required to show proof of vaccination with ID upon your arrival.

Please either come Wednesday to enjoy some samples of what to expect in the future (God-willing), or explore our website further and listen to some music samples!

Huge thanks (in alphabetical order) to our amazing cast:

Andrea Adams, Bronwyn Nestegaard-Paul, Elise Boulanger, Frank Bailey, Graham Brockley, James Meyer, Joanne Sutherland, Limin Yu, Robbie Vandermeer, and (Aunty) Tricia Barnes (narrator)

Special thanks to Lucas Paquette for our AMAZING website; to Libby and Greg for their administrative support; RCN Media (Colton for videography and Abbey for poster artwork); to Nathan Randall of Stellar Jay Music and Entertainment for his production of "Impertinent" and to Autumn Dawn for her awesome singing as well as feedback and suggestions!

We couldn't have achieved our vision were it not for the wonderful support from Trinity Catholic Church (Sarah Dafoe), St. Andrew's United Church (Vanice Thomas), The Port Theatre (Christina Theuerkorn, Mike Hessler and stage crew) Hub International Insurance (Brook Jarvie)

or the sage counsel and on-going support of Father Harrison at St. Peter's Catholic Church and Karen Jordan at Maranatha 4-Square Church; you absolutely know how we couldn't have come this far without your guidance and encouragement, HUGE love and thanks!

and especially and always, THANKS and PRAISE be for God's Eternal Love, Mercy and Grace, one day at a time, Amen!

Sarah M. Wood

It's Time!!!

You must pre-register by emailing dontyouthinkitstime@gmail.com as the seating is limited to 50 persons.

It's almost time...

From its inception 33 years ago to date, this production was intended to be performed for AND with the disconnected and/or marginalized of our current society. This includes but is not limited to the homeless, the addicted, those with mental health issues and/or suicidal ideations - particularly but certainly not restricted to those aged 16 to 25 - as well as those that journey with them. I have met countless people both then and until recently who fit these categories that have as yet untapped skills, talents and contributions to make to projects such as this. I believe this platform allows opportunities for those from these demographics to become 'part' of a team; a collective of individuals both professional and non-professional to collaborate 'on an even playing field' in an inclusive environment. We believe this project could be a catalyst; a reason that some come to believe again or maybe for the first time in their own sense of purpose and value – this musical theatre production will be our contribution to bringing hope and connections for all people in the Greater Nanaimo area and beyond.

Thank you for taking time to view our website and journey with us, sincerely yours, Sarah M. Wood

The show is cast!

We are now preparing for our first run through February 27th with the entire cast - woohoo!

On March 6th we are performing a Sitzprobe performance (a seated run-through of the entire production) with all the songs being performed by their respective characters. This performance is for the production community of Nanaimo and surrounding areas to raise a production team going forward of cast members, potential directors, musicians, tech, lighting and stage crews, publicists, artists, costume, props and set designers for our full scale production intended for the summer of 2022.

March 16th is our formal presentation of this chapter of production to the service communities of Nanaimo and surrounding areas, inviting them to partner with us to produce the finished work. We are choosing excerpts and highlights from our Sitzprobe to be performed at the Port Theatre prior to entering into discussions of how each service community might best be represented and available to our audiences at each of our performances in the future.

The final performances are set for a weekend in August (TBA) in Maffeo-Sutton Park at the Nanaimo Waterfront in the Lions Club Pavilion. Each performance will be followed by a Q & A session facilitated by members of the cast and production team as well as the service communities represented. This will allow for audience members from all demographics to be connected with these services as wanted or needed.

Thank you for your interest in this project, and please, PLEASE share this website with anyone you think may be interested - Don't You Think It's Time?

Sincerely yours,

Sarah M. Wood

Launching into 2022 and getting ready to MARCH!!!

Woot woot!

We now have an administrative assistance team who are drawing up budgets for our official production and working towards grant applications as well as proposals to our professional service communities for our upcoming sitzprobe scheduled for March (hopefully) at the Port Theatre (date and venue to be confirmed by next week).

We also have a production assistant helping with both rehearsal scheduling and note-taking. (Yippee!)

Now, we need only 5 more cast members to make up our team!

BRANDON: senior high school graduate; smart and kind, ambitious and naively idealistic. He is confused by his growing feelings of love for AGI. (6 solos, 3 duets)

*GEORGE: BRANDON’S Dad; solid and fair-minded mill foreman (1 duet)

*BOSS: BRANDON’S BOSS; truth-seeking, affable and hardworking newspaper man.(1 duet)

MICK: AGI and BRANDON’S agent; shrewd and conscientious, straight-shooter. (1 solo)

LEON: AGI’S ‘smooth operating’ drug-dealing boyfriend; a loner, cynical, and superficial. (1 duet)

THUG: LEON’S sidekick, also a soulful singer, simple and straight. (1 duet, 1 solo)

TRIO: 1 of 3 characters symbolizing God’s presence throughout; off-beat and colourful. (2 solos, 25 BGs)

*George/Boss could be played by one person.
